How often do I change tires on my 2007 350Z?

I've heard mixed messages on how often I will have to change the tires on my 350Z. On another forum some guy changed them every 10K miles. Maybe he does some serious driving.

I didn't realize that I could not rotate the tires when I bought the car. Of course rotating saves tire wear. Grrrrrrrr I still love my ride, just didn't realize the high maintenance involved.

I'm a regular street driver. I don't have a long commute, in fact I take the train more than I take the car to work.

What is the typical lifespan of a 350Z tire?

ThanksHow often do I change tires on my 2007 350Z?If you inflate your tire properly and alignment checked, you should be okay to drive 35- 40,000 miles without a hitch assuming you drive like a normal guy. You can rotate tires from right to left not front to back, but it will require dismounting your tires from rim to rim. Your tires have to be going the same direction, i.e. inside out switch. It will cost you about $50 each time; at about 10,000 miles. Yes, those high performance tires do not last as long as regular tires. How often do I change tires on my 2007 350Z?General rule for checking tire wear is to take a penny and turn it upside down and put the penny in the tread of the tire. If you see the top of Lincon's head then its time to change. How often do I change tires on my 2007 350Z?depends on a lot of factors. the most common cause of premature tire wear is underinflation which causes excessive wear in inner and outer tire edges. on 350zs the most common tire wear problem is outer edge wear caused by hard cornering(assuming tires are properly aligned and properly inflated). early 350Zs left the factory out of alignment which caused tire %26quot;feathering%26quot;. nissan issued a recall for this. it didnt effect 07 Z's though. because of the cost of the tires ALWAYS get an alignment when replacing tires, and if there is any sign of being out of alignmet(tracking to the side, pulling, steering off center) get an alignment. a set of tires runs about 1000-1300!! but , to give you the short answer, 350Zs never give %26quot;ideal%26quot; tire wear because they are never driven that way. monitor your tires with a tire wear guage and expect 10000-30000 miles. How often do I change tires on my 2007 350Z?Even though your tires are directional and can only rotate 1 way, you can still rotate them. What they do in the shop is take them off of the rim, and put the left on the right, and the right on the left.

So whoever told you that you cannot rotate them is wrong.

I recommend rotating your tires every 6K miels, or evey other oil change.

Also, how long your tires last depends on the tire. Since you have a 350Z i suspect that there are some ultra high performance summer tires on there, which are great for grip, but do wear out faster than non performance. So I suggest going on www.tirerack.com and finding your tire.

Good LuckHow often do I change tires on my 2007 350Z?Most tires can last 40,000+ if rotated and balanced regularly. Tires should be rotated every 6,000 miles or so and balanced every 3rd rotation.

You know they need to be replaced if you place a penny head first into the tread at the lowest point. If the top of Abe's head is at or above the tread line, you need to replace them.

I had my tires %26quot;siped%26quot; and they are guaranteed now for 60k miles. How often do I change tires on my 2007 350Z?Tire wear on the 350Z if heavily dependent on driving conditions and how you drive it.

The Bridgestone Potenza RE040s that came on the earlier 350Zs are GREAT tires. I have them on my I30. They have a very low tread wear rating of only 140 compared to the 300-400 that most H rated sedan tires have.

Realistically, you can get about 20,000 miles out of them.

The reason you can't rotate your tires is because the fronts and backs are different widths. Also, on high performance cars like yours, they put directional tread tires on, meaning, no flipping from side to side.

You can have the tires dismounted and remounted for around $40-$50 for all four if you shop around.

I would do this about every 10,000 miles.

If you're not into racing, drifting or just general sporty driving, you can move down to a Potenza RE750 or equivalent. The stickiness is supposed to be very similar to the REO40, but with significantly better treadwear.

Car tire change?

I have been trying to change my tire for the past couple days because the lug nuts were way too tight. I got all but one nut.... The last one will not come off because its rounded off on the edges of the bolt, making it impossible to think about fixing. Does anyone know how to remove a bolt like this??? Thanks a lot for any help!Car tire change?go with sacthmo AND shoot the last person that put them on so tight,Car tire change?Try going to Auto Zone, look up on the internet for their store locations nation wide. They are friendly and helpfulCar tire change?Well in order to get the stripped lug nut off, you will need a pair of vice-grips. Just tighten them to where it is hard to put them on then just turn.Car tire change? Is the lug nut a 3/4 or 13/16 socket? Go to parts house and purchase a universal wheel lock remover socket. Hammer it onto the rounded out nut and remove the lock nut. You can also go to tire store and get the nut removed.Car tire change?what fan said, but be sure to get a whole new set of lugsCar tire change? You can purchase something called %26quot;liquid wrench%26quot;. It may help to loosen it.

Another way I've had success with, is to use a torch and heat up the lug nut. It will expand and be easier to remove.Car tire change?Get a mechanic to do it and shoot the last person who changed your last flat.Car tire change? They make special sockets that grip onto stripped nuts and bolts. The socket works by you hammering it on, then use a standard Johnson Bar to take off the nut. Most auto supply and tool stores would carry this... or you can buy Snap-On tools (expensive option).

Option B: Cut or Break it off. You will then have to replace the Stud and Nut. With a basic mechanical back ground... Studs are easy to change.

Note: Vise Grip solution is a waste of time. You will be unable to get the Grip or Leverage on a Vise Grip to remove a nut this size that is seized.Car tire change?A very sharp (or brand new) chisel and hammer. Place chisel along the bolt going toward the drum or disk brake and do not hit recklessly. This will damage the bolt but it can be replaced.Car tire change? There is a socket you can buy that fits on a 1/2 inch rachet that will bite a rounded off bolt or nut. Can't remember the name of it but they work. A friend has one and it works!!!

Go to an auto parts store, buy the socket and a replacemen nut and have at it.Car tire change? You can buy a special tool just for this problem from a professional tool dealer like Snap On or Matco, or take it to a shop. Either way it will end up costing you a fair amount of money. You could try to beat the next smaller size socket on, but usually it does not work.Car tire change?Vice grips and maybe a squirt of Liquid Wrench. Just be careful to get all the Liquid Wrench off the threads before you put the lug back on again.

  • Question on changing tire in your car?

    hi

am feeling some kind of wobbing effect in my front right tire in my car...whenever i drive, or press the accelerator at a signal, i get the feeling as though something at the front right wheel,is pulling me to the right......

i checked with the local tire shop and they say seems like the tire might be bad ( i know some tire shoppers just lie, thinking i might buy a new tire,if they say that)...

so,how do i get this fixed.......if at all i have to change the tire, can i go for a used one....Question on changing tire in your car?The only real way to know if a tire is wobbling is to get with a friend and have them drive alongside you and observe the tire as it is in motion. If they see no wobbling, then you most likely an alignment is necessary.

If the tires have been on your vehicle without rotation for a while, they will actually show unusual wear in various places if your vehicle requires aligning. You can see diagrams that detail the unusual wear and tear at various tire places, like NTB, National Tire %26amp; Battery.

Also, if you see no unusual wear and no wobbling of the tire, your passenger-side suspension is the next thing to check. I recommend checking first the a-frame bushings, lower and upper.

Does the wobbling intensify while turning the steering wheel? If so, is it intensified on the right turn or the left or both? Another factor in the front of your car is the power steering column. Check tie rods for tightness. These are just a few ideas to take to a mechanic to diagnose a direct cause. If bushings need to be replaced, that will be the cheapest of all replacement items.

What vehicle do you drive? Front-wheel drive or rear-wheel?Question on changing tire in your car?Sounds more like you need a Front End Alignment and NOT a new tires.. Stay clear of places like Pep Boys and American Tire they will rip you offQuestion on changing tire in your car? There is a lot of things that this could be. Check the balance of the tire. Check the front alignment. Check the lug nuts.

It is possible that the front tire is bad, but I would stay away from a used one, only because you dont know any history on it. It could have come off of a car that was on fire and the tire is weak. I realize cost enters into this. Generally you want to replace both tires on that end of the car unless the other is pretty new. If you dont plan on buying one for the other side pretty soon, as it will accelerate wear on that tire.Question on changing tire in your car?Change the front two tires around, and then you will know its the tire if it pulls the other way. My guess would be its out of alignment or your tire pressure is low on one side.Question on changing tire in your car?You could have a bad tire, what some call a broken belt. one way to check is jack the car up so the front wheels will spin. then looking at the tire from the front of the car spin the tire as fast as you can, if the tire spin straight it is most likely good. if it has a wobble, it is most likely bad. Used tires are just that used. You take a chance anytime you buy anything used. I have good luck with used tires. I get them from a junk yard.Question on changing tire in your car?Depends on the condition of the tire. Is it properly inflated? Does the tread look worn. You can tell how your tire is turning by the wear.

Your car can be out of alignment and cause the wobble. If you do replace a tire, you should always replace two and put those on the front and the better ones on the rear.Question on changing tire in your car?Geeze!

Befoire doing all that crap, check to see if the bolts/nuts holding the tire in place are all tight.Question on changing tire in your car?check your tire pressure, esp. make sure the front ones have the same air pressure. If it still pulls it could be an alignment. How old is the car? You mentioned that when you accelerate, there's a funny feeling at the right front wheel. Does it make a popping sound when you turn corners? if so it could be a CV joint that's going bad. Need more info.

Where can I find motorcycle maintenance guide and part info?

I new to motorcycles and really don't know anything about them. Do any body know any good sites or books where I can learn about parts and how to maintaine a bike(oil change, tire change, ect).Where can I find motorcycle maintenance guide and part info?Clymer manuals are user friendly, inexpensive and written for those whom are new to the world of motorcycle repair. You can also purchase a shop manual at the dealership but they can be difficult to understand and may cost you as much as $60 bucks. There are a wealth of books out there for basic motorcycle repair on amazon.com too.Where can I find motorcycle maintenance guide and part info?Jason, buy yourself a motorcycle manual relevant to your machine.

If you a adult learning school where you do trades etc, they should have a small engines cse that you should be able to enrol and attend at night.

This would be your best option to learn some skills and about how engines run etc!

If you buy tools don't buy the cheapest as they will not last and you run the risk of damaging parts on your bike.

I could go on about doing different types of servicing but I would run out of room!

Good luck with the knowledge and training.

Do you know how to change a tire?

Who taught you? How often have you used the knowledge?Do you know how to change a tire?Yes, I am an oldie and learned it from my father after an initial %26quot;mess up%26quot; moment. I tried to change a tire on a 1960 Rambler to no avail. So, I had to call my dad. Who woulda known to loosen the lug nuts first? Nowadays, with those being tightened by machinery, it is almost impossible to do.

Because of my experiences, I made sure that my own children knew the concept of tire changing. (Don't call mother.)

I've not done it since then in the 1960s as I've always coerced someone else to do it for me. HAHA

Thank goodness, today's tires are sooooo much better! The warranties are just great, too. But, having a membership in AAA is well worthwhile!Do you know how to change a tire?Changing a tire is quite simple as long as you're not on the side of the road somewhere. I taught myself. I changed my first tire when I was 16, on my first car. It was a 1977 Ford Thunderbird with a 351 Cleveland. It was a great car.

I've used this knowledge countless times over the past 10 years. I worked for Discount Tire Company, I've changed my own wheels and tires, and worked on my own cars/trucks over the years.

It's simple yet indispensable knowledge. Even if you only have to use it once it your life. It could save you allot of time and gives you at the very least a sense of self-satisfaction.Do you know how to change a tire?I know how to change a tire, my dad taught me. I haven't had to use this knowledge yet, but hopefully won't have to since I got AAA.

hope this helpsHow does the cars computer react to changing tire size? The computer receives the speed signal from the transmission output shaft. Therefore it is calibrated to the circumference of the tire. If you put on a tire with a larger circumference you will be traveling faster than the speedo registers. If you put on a tire with a smaller circumference you will be going slower than the speedometer registers,How does the cars computer react to changing tire size?It doesn't. If buying bigger rims, the driver has to adjust tire size accordingly to ensure the speedo is as close as possible.

For every inch you increase rim size, increase tire tread width by 10 mm, and then reduce aspect ratio by 10%.

How urgent is it to fix a front end alignment?

Is it a bad idea to wait that long? How urgent is it to fix a front end alignment?Bad alignment will cause tire wear. If it is badly out of alignment you will ruin the tires. If it isn't, you can wait the 1000 miles. Keep an eye on your tires and watch for signs of fluting or scuffing along the edges. If you see this you better do it sooner rather than later. How urgent is it to fix a front end alignment? If you don't get that fixed soon. It could wear your tires out faster. I Want To Change The Radio In My 2002 Chevy Monte Carlo But How Would I Set The Oil Change And Tire Press Feat

There Is A Feature That Tells You Your Oil Life And Tire Pressure And Its Controlled Throught The Radio, I Want to Change My Factory Radio To Something A Little More Flashy. But Would I Still Be Able To Control These FeaturesI Want To Change The Radio In My 2002 Chevy Monte Carlo But How Would I Set The Oil Change And Tire Press FeatDo you have your owner's manual? The steps for resetting the TPMS and Oil Life Monitor without the radio are in the manual.

To reset the Oil Life Monitor do the following: turn the car on (do not start) and quickly press the gas pedal down three times. You should hear a chime and the Change Engine Oil light will flash and turn off.

To reset the TPMS (Tire Pressure Management System) make sure all tires are inflated properly then do this:

(From 2000 Impala Manual, process is the same for the Monte)

Turn the ignition to ON, then pull the interior lamps

control to the ON and OFF settings three times.

The system normally takes 15 to 20 minutes of driving

in each of three speed ranges to “learn” tire pressures.

    The speed ranges are 15 to 40 mph (25 to 65 km/h),

    40 to 65 mph (65 to 105 km/h) and above 65 mph

(105 km/h). When learning is complete, the system

will alert you after two to eight minutes if a tire is 12 psi

(83 kPa) different from the other three tires. Detection

thresholds may be higher and detection times may be

longer on rough roads, curves and at high speeds. The

system is not capable of detection at speeds greater than

70 mph (110 km/h).I Want To Change The Radio In My 2002 Chevy Monte Carlo But How Would I Set The Oil Change And Tire Press Featprobably not, the radio is hooked to all of it. the only way would be that you would have to get get a radio from GM with the same capabilities. What do you think about a girl that knows how to change a tire.?

Hot or not. What do you think about a girl that knows how to change a tire.?Hot.

Do you feel it is essential to change the tire loading size for the added extra weight of a system?

how bout shocks and springs,,,opinions plz

and of course facts,,,Do you feel it is essential to change the tire loading size for the added extra weight of a system?Just how much does this system weigh? Are we talking about a normal system with a bigger alternator, a second battery, 6-8 speakers and two subwoofers, a capacitor and four amps? Because all up that's only going to weigh 200 pounds or so, which isn't enough weight to require suspension upgrades.

However, if you're going to be fitting a huge show system to a vehicle, something like a full custom fibreglass interior, 24-32 speakers, 8-16 subwoofers, 16 amplifiers, 8-16 capacitors, 8 batteries, twin truck alternators, many miles of heavy guage wiring etc. etc. etc., then it could all add up to over a tonne - in which case if you want to be driving this vehicle on the road, not only should the suspension be heavily modified, the chassis should be strengthened, the brakes should be massively upgraded, stronger wheels with much higher load rating tyres should be fitted, the power steering pump and rack may need to be strengthened/modified, the list goes on and on!

  • Help me change a tire?

i know how to do the whole thing. i just never used a jack like this. instead of having a point of contact to meet with the notch on the underside of my car this jack has a much broader, flatter end. it should go against another flat surface but i don't know where. i'm not a fan of cars so don't give me a list of car parts. please give me an idea of what part of the car is best for holding its entire weight.

the rest of the tire change is under control.Help me change a tire? You can place it under the frame near the tire, or under a rear shock if it's the rear tire. The frame is just in from the edge of your car. Runs pretty much from front tire to rear tire.Help me change a tire?CHECK THE MANUAL.Help me change a tire?you need to put it on the axle

or the frameHelp me change a tire? What kind of car do you have? Is it a car, an SUV, a truck? Is the piece a flat plateau like part? If so, it may need to be placed under the lift points. There is usually one lift point at the front and one at the back of the car. Check in your owner's manual and you can also call the maker (Chevy, Mazda, Honda, etc) of your car for help or to buy a different jack.Help me change a tire?check the owners manual...it goes on a flange underneath the drivers or passenger side door. they may also be instructions in the well with the spare tire. make sure you put it on properly...so that it does not slip!Help me change a tire?question is not complete Is it back wheel or front wheel. usually there is a space for keeping jack for any vehicle. So keep the jack near to tyre which was to repair below the axleHelp me change a tire?If you're a woman, there should be a man near by who would want to help you, or anyway show you.Help me change a tire? While the car is still flat on the ground, loosen the bolts with your feet by putting the crow bar on the bolts and loosening it with your body weight via the feet. Then use the jack to lift the car, take the bolts off, then take off the tire, then put on the new tire, screw on the new bolts, then lower the vehicle and tighten the bolts with your feet.

Then you should be awight!!Help me change a tire? You have the jack upsidedown, The flat part goes on the ground.Help me change a tire? Most likely there will be a frame rail running along the side of the car beneath the doors, usually about eight to ten inches from the bottom of the doors. You can place the jack under this rail and then jack it up slowly and watch for any distortion of the rail. If it looks strong enough, proceed. The alternative is to place the jack under the axle and jack that up.Help me change a tire? These cheeky bastards here think that they can win your ten points by stating the obvious. I happen to know that the flat part of the jack goes on the inside concave part of your armpit. Whilst jacking your pit must be perpendicular to the ground at all times, or your Kneuter valve may explode, causing your Johnson rods to hang far below the federal standard. Try to keep your chin up, and hopefully by now some unsuspecting, halfway good looking man has come along and taken control of the situation. As for your answer about yams, I would argue the availability of Yams on the market is quite strong. Although the common Beauregard sweet potato has felched it's way into the market mysteriously mis-labeled as a yam, any true yam enthusiast would laugh in the eyes of such an impostor. Ha, I say.

Crawl under the vehicle, look for an adequate support for the jack, as well as the spot where the jack is %26quot;supposed%26quot; to fit into the car. Curse for about 3 minutes, cause the adequate support area is no where near the jack spot on the car. After finding the flattest roadside bolder you can find, very slowly raise the jack, allowing sway time in between lifts. Now it's time to get those lug nuts off. Before starting this find something sharp and immediately cut your hand. You may think this to be harsh and even stupid, but here's why. If you attempt lug removal without this sacrifice to the car gods, you will inevitably strip a lug, taring your skin in the process. So save the lug as it is important, the cut's a given. Grab the spare tire and move it into installation position. Lay it back down and raise the jack again as the new, inflated tire is taller then the flat one. Leave yourself plenty of escape room here. For in your haste to reach the correct height the jack will lose it's footing, crashing the car to the ground. Further wound your hand punching the car in anger. Grab your cell, call a wrecker and hope where ever you will stay the night at least has a decent bar and clean sheets.

How to Change a tire in an automotive hobby shop.?

you place the tire on the mount dismount machine. there is a cone shaped pic that spins down on the machin to hold the rim down tight. Remove the valve stem valve (the little piece of metal in the middle of the valve stem) with a valve stem valve remover. when there is no air in the tire thin lift the de-beadier bar (located on the frond right) align it so it fits next to the rim. Press the foot petal and the breaker bar will lower de-beading the tire from the rim. release the petal, swing the arm out of the way. Now there is a wrench looking thing double ended and has a slit in the middle. Place the curved end in the de-beaded area and push the other end up and over the center of the wheel the slot in the tool go over the metal rod in the middle of the rim. pressing the pedal the bar will rotate sliding the tire off around the rim. once the outer part of the tire is off then do the same for the inner keeping the rim in place. now you have a bear rim.

soap the bead of the new tire and the rim itself. on the left side press the tire on the rim then use the tire iron again but the other end of it this time. Place it against the rim and press the peddle and it will swing around and and mount the bottom half of the tire then you repeat to get the top on. Now it should me mounted.

loosen the cone pice from the rim a little bit (not off) connect the air line to the valve stem and press the peddle to fill the tire you have to hold the tire in the middle of the rim. sometimes getting the tire to bead is the hardest part. once it beads watch the pressure you put in the tire. Add about 3 pounds extra and get the valve ready to be put back in the valve stem. When you remove the air line, air will come out until you get the valve in. after the valve is in then adjust the pressure of the tire.

BE CAREFUL IF CAN BE DANGEROUS USING THIS MACHINE IF SOMEONE IS THERE TO ASSIST YOU BY JUST WATCHING YOU AND GIVING YOU ADVICE THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED TO DO.

    Cub Cadet 1550 Tire change?

My front tire is flat o my cub cadet. I can't even get it off the machine. There is this black plastic cover where lug nut usually go on car tires. I can't really inflate the tire with my air compressor because it just blows out the end of the rim (the tire is completely flat. Any Ideas how to dismantle the tire?/ Or inflate it?Cub Cadet 1550 Tire change? The black plastic cover just snaps off. Use a screw driver or something to pry it off. There is a nut and washer holding the wheel on the axle.

The best thing is to take the tire to a shop and have them put a tube in it.

I have a 1330 and the front tires tend to loose air over the winter and then slide off the rim. I have tubes in both of the front tires on mine. This lets them hold air better and not come off the rim.

How do I change a tire on my car?

I know the basics I mean I know you need to jack up the car obviously. But the tire is shredded and it looks stuck. Yes i am a woman and NO i don't have any one to help me. The wheel of the car kinda looks scraped but I dont think it is bent. Please advise I can't afford to pay someone to do it so i just wanna buy a tire and give it a whirl! thanksHow do I change a tire on my car?Not going to happen.

You need a press, which will fit the tire on the wheel.

Then you need a balancing machine, to make sure the tire is properly balanced on the wheel, or it will drive horribly.

Then the alignment needs to be checked.

None of which, can you do.How do I change a tire on my car?I think your best bet it trying to find a used tire place if your short on money. How do I change a tire on my car?Set the brake, loosen the lug nuts a turn or two and then jack up the car. After you get the lug nuts off, if the wheel is stuck, give it a good kick at the top of the rim, it should come off. Replace it with the spare, tighten the nuts. let it off the jack and then finish tightening the nuts, stand on the lug wrench if you can't tighten them enough by hand, just don't fall.

You will need to take the rim to a tire shop, Wal mart does tires in some stores, any of the national chains are pretty reliable.

It takes a special machine to break the tire's beads off of the rim. The shop will tell you if your rim is safe to reuse. How do I change a tire on my car?I'm guessing you mean how do you change out tire on the rim?

I have done this by hand but it's very hard. you will need tools that i'm guessing you don't' have. At very least you need 3 large screw drivers. When i did it i had %26quot;tire spoons%26quot;. You use soapy water and pry around the rim using each screw driver to hold the tire down. You have to have a lot of compressed air to get the tire to pop onto the rim or you have to get some type of winch and wrap around the tire to squeeze it out on to the rim to get somewhat seated so you can start putting air into it.

After that point it's still not balanced and you will have problems.

Cheapest way is to buy a tire on the rim off caigslist.

How to change the tire from the rim (steel wheel)?

I did buy 2 new tyres from internet and i went to the garage to fit them for me on the steel rim. They told me that is against company policy and they can not do it for me unless i buy the tires from them.

Since i have the tires and the steel rim i was thinking to fit them by myself . Can you thell me how i can fit them on the rim?How to change the tire from the rim (steel wheel)?Sure -

Take them out in the garage

put some warm very soapy water on the outer lip - (bead)

Lock the rim in the tire machine.

place the tire on top - shove the tire on as far as you can by hand - let the machine do the rest.

Is their any other ladies out there who do? What are your thoughts?Should women know how to change a tire or oil in their car?yes, they should. Especially the tire. That way if you're in the middle of nowhere and get stuck, you don't have to wait around for someone to help you. Yes, I know how to do both, although having the strength to do it is another question. haha.Should women know how to change a tire or oil in their car? They should know how to change a tire .....Should women know how to change a tire or oil in their car?i think everyone who drives should be able to change a tire. change your oil, isnt as important to know, many shops do it. not too many shops come to you and change your tire. but i am not saying not changing your oil isnt important. it is. but if i am teaching a female car maintance, changing a tire is the first thing. second might be belts.Should women know how to change a tire or oil in their car?Yeah, it's better than relying on anyone because this way, you'll know what to do yourself.

It's not that hard at all.Should women know how to change a tire or oil in their car?We should know how to change a tire, check the tire pressure, check the oil, power steering fluid, transmission fluid, window washer fluid. Changing a tire isnt hard to do a little difficult at first but once you get the hang of it , it is pretty easy. I suggest you take a day and practice it. Have your dad or someone you trust there with you to help out when needed. To check and make sure you did it right take your car to a jiffy lube or any other place like that and have them check the tire that you changed to make sure your tire dosn't come off while you are driving.

I personally don't think it would help much to be able to change the oil, but changing the tire on a vehicle is a good skill to have in view of the potential frequency in which flats happen. The real truth of the matter is, though, a female with a flat will only have to stand by the flat tire with a distressed expression and some guy will offer assistance in relatively short order. Not sexist, just real truth. But I would want the lady in my life to be able to change a tire safely so she could avoid those offers of help with strings attached.Should women know how to change a tire or oil in their car?women should but are way to dumb to know howShould women know how to change a tire or oil in their car?yes cause what if there is no one else around and you have to do it yourself or wait a long time for someone to show up you will know how it is good to know

How the heck do I get those lug nuts off the car so I can change the tire?

Yeah I am trying with the tools they supplied and turning counter clockwise. My 20 yr old Volvo has a flat in the garage and I got the hubcap off but can't budge the lug-nuts. Any ideas would be appreciated other than calling someone for help. I guess I am not that strong. I'm a woman and just can't seem to turn them. How the heck do I get those lug nuts off the car so I can change the tire?Do you have some WD40 around the house? Spray some on the lugs where they touch the rim. Let it soak for a few mins then try again.

There are anti-seize sprays on the market, like PB Blaster, available at auto parts stores. If you can get to a parts store like AutoZone, pick up a can and spray it on the lugs.

Usually the tools that come with a car are total junk. What you need is some leverage. Try slipping a steel pipe over the handle of the lug wrench and use it as a fulcrum to give you more power. How the heck do I get those lug nuts off the car so I can change the tire?Try and get some sort of pipe to stick over the end of the wrench, and increase the leaverage. And stamp on it;)

HeheHow the heck do I get those lug nuts off the car so I can change the tire?I had some lug nuts seize on my son's car. Some genius Japanese car designer thought it was a good idea to use steel lug nuts on aluminum alloy wheels. Took me days to get the tire off. But here's what finally worked.

I got a 1/2 inch drive breaker bar and an impact socket the size to fit the lug nut. I used an impact socket because it is a 6 point socket which would be less likely to round off the lug nut. Also, an impact socket has a thicker wall thickness and was less likely to break.

I went to the home improvement store and bought a 6 foot section of black pipe. This is metal pipe, not plastic. I think I used 1 1/4 inch diameter pipe. You want something large enough to fit over the wrench handle but not too big.

I used the black pipe as an extension on the breaker bar handle to get some serious leverage. It took a lot of effort.

I replaced the frozen lug nuts with new ones.

However be aware that you will get some serious leverage using this method. You risk breaking the lug nut studs. How the heck do I get those lug nuts off the car so I can change the tire?Trunk tools for changing tires are %26quot;junk tools%26quot;. You need a 16 inch breaker bar from your Sears Tool Department an a metric deep well socket - the same size as your junk-trunk tool.

You will find that the pressure you exert is more controlled and it feels more ergonomically comfortable. It wouldn't hurt to spray the lug nuts with: PB Blaster, a rust solvent which any hardware or auto-parts store has.How the heck do I get those lug nuts off the car so I can change the tire?stand on it i am a woman and my dad taught me to stand on it cause women do not have the upper strength to do it.

Where/How can I learn how to change a tire?

I think that's a skill that everyone should at least be familiar with. I really want to learn, and to be able to practice it several times under supervision. Where or how can I learn?Where/How can I learn how to change a tire? You might try asking a neighbor or friend to help, as I agree, if you don't know what you're doing, it's better to have someone walk/talk you through it.

Also, for a small fee, maybe a local service station or tire shop will help you.

But I do agree, I think everyone should know how to change a flat, (and WHEN to change it, or drive to a safe spot to do it [I refuse to change a flat while on the freeway, as a passing truck could blow the car off the jack] but it seems to be a loss art anymore.

Maybe they should require it on the driving test.

By the way, you might want to throw a pair of work gloves, and maybe a blanket (to set/kneel on the ground) in your tire changing kit.Where/How can I learn how to change a tire?if you have the owners manual and the jack and stuff its easy to figure out, just try it on your day off. Its about as hard as putting together ikea furniture but once you get it your all goodWhere/How can I learn how to change a tire?It should say how to do it in your owners manual if it's still in the car.

    If not........

ALWAYS MAKE SURE ITS ON SEMI-LEVEL GROND AND SET THE PARKING BRAKE! NEVER GET UNDERNEATH THE CAR WHILE ON A JACK.Trust me on this one. The jacks that they give you with the car aren't very stable.

1 Get the jack out of the car.

2 Read where to place it (it should say on the truck sticker where you go the jack where to place it.

    3 Take the hubcap off.

4 While the car is still on the ground break the lug nuts loose (lefty loosey righty tighty)

5 Jack the car up until the tire is clear of the ground by a few inches.

6 Take the lug nuts off

7 Take the tire and rim off, if it wont come off make sure you have all the nuts off and kick it lightly near the bottom

8 Replace tire with the spare and tighten the lug nuts as much as you can in a criss cross pattern (dont go around in a ring)

    9 Lower jack.

10 Tighten the lug nuts up as tight as you can by hand using the wrench.

Lug nuts SHOULD be torqued to a specified amount using a torque wrench but nobody ever seems to do this anymore.

I'm sure you have a male relative around that can give you a hand.Where/How can I learn how to change a tire?Ask your dad or a friend with some help.Where/How can I learn how to change a tire?I got a flat once on the coast north of Santa Cruz, CA, at night, in the rain and had to learn real quick how to change it all by myself! The first thing you want to do is make sure you always have some %26quot;fix-a-flat%26quot; in your trunk, which is a good temporary fix if you've picked up a nail, not so helpful for a blow-out.

Check the owner's manual for your car. There should be a section on changing the tire that will give you exact instructions for your car on how to access and use the jack and tire-iron, loosen the lug-nuts (leftie-loosie), access the spare, change the tire, tighten the lug nuts, and store the bad tire where the spare was. Then you'll need to replace it and put a new tire back on, as most spares are skinny little temp tires that aren't supposed to go over x mph, (and most spare tire rims don't match the rest of the car's wheels - but that's only cosmetic).

Good luck on your endeavor. I think I would have benefitted from some previous knowledge when I made my first, necessary, attempt; but it really wasn't that hard, %26amp; I was really proud of myself and felt sooo empowered once the deed was done!Where/How can I learn how to change a tire?VISIT YOUR NEAREST TRAILER PARK AND/OR FAT *** LESBIAN!?Where/How can I learn how to change a tire?I know it sounds silly but I learned on a night class at local college for basic vehicle maintenance. Happy ChristmasWhere/How can I learn how to change a tire?Ask your dad or boyfreind to show you how to do it. It isnt that hard and thats good you want to learn how to do it. • How do i change a tire on a wire beaded tire?

i have wire beaded tire and have no idea how to change the tire? How do i change a tire on a wire beaded tire?Tires have had wire inner beads since Hector was a pup. It's nit the tire you have to fight its the raised safety bead inside the wheel. You need two tools to dis-mount a tire from a wheel. A tire spoon and a tire iron. If you have aluminum wheels stop before you start. If you attempt to pound under the lip of the wheel you'll scuff or brake the wheel. Take the wheel and tire to a tire shop where they'll break it down safely within 30 seconds.

How do you change a tire?

I have a flat and I've decided to change it myself for the first time. I'm tired of getting men to do it for me. It doesn't look that difficult, but I've never done it before so please give me some tips! Especially other women who have done it... because we understand each other better. :)How do you change a tire?Make sure the car is on a level surface. It is OK to drive it a short distance slowly to get onto flat ground if there is a steep slope. It sounds like you are at home so this might not be a problem. Put the transmission in first or low gear and pull on the handbrake /emergency brake. Now read the owner's manual. A bit of hand cream before starting helps the clean up after.

If there is concrete or road paving under the car, you are good to go but if it is just lawn look around for a flat piece of wood about the size of a paperback novel to go under the jack. This spreads the pressure a bit and stops the jack from sinking into the ground, specially if the ground is soft. If the jack has a wide base or the ground is hard this might not be needed.

Look for the jacking points on the car. These will be holes in the bodywork under the level of the doors and just behind the front wheels and just in front of the back wheels. Some small cars have only one on each side, larger cars have two on each side. There will probably be a rubber or plastic plug in these jacking points, the points will be tubular holes extending maybe a hand's length into the bodywork.

Get a brick or even better, two and place one in front of the wheel on the far side of the car from the flat, right up against the tire. Put the second brick behind the same wheel. A large garden stone or big lump of wood will do if you have no brick. If the ground is very flat you can do without them but it is a good idea on a slight slope. This prevents the car from moving when you jack it up.

Open the luggage compartment and take out the wrench that fits the nuts or bolts that hold the wheels on.

Place the wrench on one of the wheel nuts and try to turn it anti-clockwise / counterclockwise. If you can move it you should be able to complete the job. It is OK to put your foot on the end of the wrench and push down. Do not remove the nut entirely if you can move it, just leave it there still snug. Try the three or four other nuts as well. If you can't move them, you are stuck with having to get someone else to do the job for you.

If you can move them all, get the jack and the spare wheel out. The spare wheel will be held in place in some cars by a long rod that screws into a thread below it, or it may be held in by a clamp or a spare wheel nut. Place your book size bit of wood on the ground and then put the side arm of the jack into the jacking point. You may have to wind it up or down a little to get it to go in. Put the base of the jack on the wood or just above and then wind the jack handle until the jack starts to lift the car. Keep winding until the wheel is well off the ground, but don't go too high. You have already loosened the wheel nuts so they should be fairly easy to take off. Put then somewhere that they won't be accidentally kicked under the car or away.

Pull the flat wheel toward you and let it drop gently onto the ground. Roll it away and then roll up the spare wheel. It does not matter whether the tire valve goes up or down, left or right. You will have to lift it slightly by hand. If you can't lift the wheel far enough, lean it on the inner parts and lower the car slightly until it it nearly matches, you can probably manage it then.

When it is in place, put one of the nuts on and screw it in just by hand. Then put the rest on. Tighten them up by hand.

Now lower the car part way so that the tire is in contact with the ground. Put the wrench on the nuts and tighten them. Do every second one if there are five like 1-3-5-2-4, if there are four, work diagonally, like 1-3-2-4. Since the car is still on the jack, do not use a great deal of force, but get them nice and snug, maybe like a lid on a jar.

Now you can lower the car all the way and remove the jack. Go round all the wheel nuts and get them as tight as you can without standing on the wrench. Put everything away and you're done.

Couple of days later, check the wheel nuts for tightness again. How do you change a tire?I tell my gf to do it and grab a beerHow do you change a tire? Here's the key tip in my opinion, no matter whose changing the tire. First, before you do anything else, take the lug wrench and see if you can loosen one of the lug nuts. If you can, your lucky. Then, without removing any lug nuts, see if you can loosen another one. If you can, you've got a shot at changing the tire. The final tip is SAFETY FIRST.How do you change a tire?Ok hon...

Read the Owner's Manual, it is a very useful book. Has all the info that you need about your car, even tells you how to wash it too! If you can follow the easy instructions and pay attention to the safety tips, you are good to go!

Even a caveman can do it too!

If not, call some friends or AAA if you are a member. How do you change a tire?get your mom to dew it then you can grab a beer...lolHow do you change a tire?changing tire is quite easy if u get all the instruments right

first try to loosen the nuts of the tire and if u succeeds put a jack under Ur car and lift it a bit then losen all the nuts and take the tire out .

take out ur stepney from the cars trunk and place it in the right position and tighten the nuts. release the jack and u r doneHow do you change a tire? Here's how I tell anyone to change a tyre. Good idea to do it yourself ;)

If you're using the nut wrench from the boot, I find they're often too short to get good leverage. A two foot pipe over the wrench or borrowing a decent wrench makes it easier

Also make sure it's a very good snug fit on the nuts, if it slips off try another wrench or you risk rounding off the bolt faces

Unless your on a hill wood under a wheel, handbrake and 1st gear will keep it from moving

Jack on firm surface not earth

Take the jack and find the proper jacking point, sometimes it's not obvious so take time finding the spot that is designed to safely take the weight

Loosen all the wheel nuts before you start jacking!

Then lift her up + a bit extra cause the new tyre won't be flat

If it's a disk brake take the opportunity the examine the pads,

if there's less than a matchstick width they need doing soon

Fit new tyre and do up the bolts in random order a little bit tight with the wrench, just to fix it in place

Drop the jack and do those nuts up tight (a bit of oil does no harm on a really sticky bolt that 'snatches')

How tight? With a 1 foot wrench as much as you can, if I'm using a longer one then pretty damn tight but not too tight,

I go round a few times just getting them a tiny bit tighter until I'm satisfied and swearing

ps safety tip. one jack is not enough to go under the car

Good luck all will be ok!

How do i change a tire for a Renault Clio(3)?

So the tire had a little encounter with a nail and now we need to change it

Could someone explain IN DETAIL :D how to change it?

ThanksHow do i change a tire for a Renault Clio(3)?First find the manual for the car, and learn where the jack and lug wrench are. Also where the jack should be placed/

Place the bottom of the jack on something solid (patio block, short piece of 2x 6 And the top where indicated in the manual.

Either pump the jack or turn a screw clockwise (depending on the type of jack) Until most of the weight of the car is taken off the tire.

Turn to the tire and loosen the lugnuts (turn them counterclockwise) Do not take them all the way out, just loosen them

When they are loose return to the jack and pump, or turn until the tire is entirely up in the air (maybe an inch or so)
