All five lugs on my Volvo wheel have seized. How do I change my tire?

I was driving home at night and got a flat tire. No cell phone, flashlight batteries dead, no houses around, and 4 degrees according to my dashboard display. I was driving with a guy who I knew had drugs in his wallet, so I wasn't wanting to wait for a cop to drive by. I couldn't figure out how to work this stupid jack, so I just drove the 1.1 miles to get home. I had to work the next morning--24 hour shift--during which time the car sat in the driveway on the flat. Then the snow hit. I just shoveled the car out from under 2 feet of snow and tried changing the tire. The lugs are seized. All 5. I used my landlord's impact wrench. No luck. What next? All five lugs on my Volvo wheel have seized. How do I change my tire?this is common on that car i use a 1/2 inch breaker bar

(craftsman) and a quality impact Socket 17mm or 19mm depending on your car and a 4 foot pipe as a cheater to extend the Length of the breaker bar it will come off don't heat it as it will discolor the rim and will ruin the strength of the boltAll five lugs on my Volvo wheel have seized. How do I change my tire?I would'nt call such a person %26quot; my friend%26quot;All five lugs on my Volvo wheel have seized. How do I change my tire?I would hammer them out or drill them out. You will be able to buy the replacement lugs and bolts at a autopart store. All five lugs on my Volvo wheel have seized. How do I change my tire? This happened to my Ford Taurus a few years ago. Unfortunately I had to have my car taken to a garage on a flatbed where they had to cut the lug nuts off and replace the wheel. All five lugs on my Volvo wheel have seized. How do I change my tire?Get a good cross type lug wrench or 1/2 inch socket breaker bar and a 2 foot piece of pipe to fit over the wrench handle. Leave the wheel on the ground so it can't rotate. Then use the pipe and wrench to lever the lug nuts loose. A friend could steady you while you stand on the wrench handle or pipe extension. All five lugs on my Volvo wheel have seized. How do I change my tire?soak the lugs in pb blast or some other penetrant lube for 24 hours then impact them out again. All five lugs on my Volvo wheel have seized. How do I change my tire?I have had to put a little heat to them one at a time

with an oxyacetaline torch and remove them with the

air wrench. All five lugs on my Volvo wheel have seized. How do I change my tire? You need a more powerful impact gun.

This has never happened to me.

The heat theory is inaccurate. All five lugs on my Volvo wheel have seized. How do I change my tire?Spray some %26quot;Liquid Wrench%26quot; on the lugs. That should free the nuts and then use a 4-way to break them free. Good Luck!!!All five lugs on my Volvo wheel have seized. How do I change my tire?you need to heat the lugs nuts up with a heating torch but be careful not to over heatAll five lugs on my Volvo wheel have seized. How do I change my tire?to loosen the lugs you may have to use an extension on your lug wrench like a short piece of pipe . make sure that your turning them the right way. counter clockwise to remove themAll five lugs on my Volvo wheel have seized. How do I change my tire?Try spraying the lugs with a type of penetrating oil and let them sit for a bit. If you can keep soaking them and let them sit overnight it might help. Then get a socket and a breaker bar and try to get them off. You might check the local auto parts to make sure they have your lug bolts in stock in case you break one. If this doesn't work, heat them with a torch and see if that helps. If that doesn't work, cut them off. With the last two fixes it's a good idea to replace the lug bolts %26amp; nuts with new.

Good Luck! All five lugs on my Volvo wheel have seized. How do I change my tire? You made several critical errors here. First and foremost is having a %26quot;friend%26quot; who carries drugs and valuing those drugs over good sense. This caused you to make a serious error of driving on a flat for so far which frankly was a stupid thing to do. Driving on a flat is simply stupid. There is NO other word which fits. This was from your description, NOT a life and death matter. It is very likely you have severely damaged the rim and it may have damaged the fasteners as well. I am surprised you did not lose the tire completely, or DID you and drive on the bare rim? You can try heat and penetrating oil. It may simply be that the cold has contracted the metal parts enough to lock the fasteners in place and heating the fasteners will expand the metal enough so you can loosen the lugs. What was the weather like when you had the logs off last time? If it was warm, then you need to warm things to near the same temperature and try again. If that does not work, then it is time for a bigger hammer or a longer wrench. Call Triple A and get it towed to a shop and let them work it out. If you damage the fasteners, you will only have yourself to blame and you will end up at the shop anyway... YMMV...
