How many times can a person change his spare tire before going back to the original?

sometimes you have a spare doughnut or a spare full size tire thats identical to the original tire. If you have the doughnut, that should be fine being used as a spare for a few days at a time until you repair or replace the original. If its a full size original (same size as original), then it could be used as a permanent replacement if you are strapped for cash. Repairing flat tires is very cheap assuming its a simple nail in tire (~$40). Its not the number of times you need to use the spare, but rather that you dont ride 100s of miles on it and try to keep it as a permanent tire. Also, make sure the shop that replaces the tire back to the original checks and refills the air pressure in the spare to make sure its properly inflated for next time. Generally the spare tire is put on when another tire becomes damaged and it may be unsafe to impossible to drive. How many times can a person change his spare tire before going back to the original? The answer depends on how long you drive on the spare really. If you use the spare as designed...only drive on it to the nearest dealer or service station to fix the regular tire, you can use the spare quite a few times.

However, if you drive on it until the tread pattern wears out (those mini-spares don't last very long), you can really only use it once.
