Sienna AWD - will the tire wear out much more serious than normal 2WD Sienna?

For anyone who own a Sienna AWD, do you find your tires wear out more serious than other cars? In average, how many miles you need to change the tires? Normal 2 wd vehicles usually wear out the right rear first, because it provides most of the traction. If you have an anti slip differential, both tires wear evenly, because 2 are pulling and since it is distributed between 2 tires, they wear slower. In an AWD all tires pull about equal,so they should last longer.

I bought a 1978 Dodge Power Wagon with full time 4 wheel drive and the original tires lasted 42,000 miles. A friend bought a '79 Chevy with part time four wheel drive and the right rear wore out in about 10,000 miles and all the others looked good.

Sienna AWD - will the tire wear out much more serious than normal 2WD Sienna?Well, it is recommended that you rotate your tires so that you will have even tire/tread wear, whether you have an AWD or regular FWD car.



Perhaps another matter for the Sienna AWD models is that some of them are equipped with the run-flat tires. Yes, they are convenient when you do get a flat in one of them and aren't totally immobilized and can be safer, but they can be expensive to replace (something like $200/tire).
