Sienna AWD - will the tire wear out much more serious than normal 2WD Sienna?

For anyone who own a Sienna AWD, do you find your tires wear out more serious than other cars? In average, how many miles you need to change the tires? I plan to buy one but consider if the tire wearing cost too much. Thanks!Sienna AWD - will the tire wear out much more serious than normal 2WD Sienna?Tires should last longer on an AWD. Normal 2 wd vehicles usually wear out the right rear first, because it provides most of the traction. If you have an anti slip differential, both tires wear evenly, because 2 are pulling and since it is distributed between 2 tires, they wear slower. In an AWD all tires pull about equal,so they should last longer.

I bought a 1978 Dodge Power Wagon with full time 4 wheel drive and the original tires lasted 42,000 miles. A friend bought a '79 Chevy with part time four wheel drive and the right rear wore out in about 10,000 miles and all the others looked good.

This is considering all normal driving. If you are a hot rodder, they will all wear out very quickly.Sienna AWD - will the tire wear out much more serious than normal 2WD Sienna? The actual answer is that run flat tires don't give like regular radials and wear twice as fast and unevenly

to the point of unbelievable. they're endurance is reminiscent of bias plys of decades ago. Oh they cost 250.00 to replace too. Solution is to switch to radials and go spareless...

Perhaps another matter for the Sienna AWD models is that some of them are equipped with the run-flat tires. Yes, they are convenient when you do get a flat in one of them and aren't totally immobilized and can be safer, but they can be expensive to replace (something like $200/tire). It is up to you if this tradeoff is worth it.Sienna AWD - will the tire wear out much more serious than normal 2WD Sienna?awd uses run fats they are goodfor only 20,000 miles replacement costs 300 - 400 per tire awd tires are firmer and don t perform as well however awd is worth it if you drive in rain or snow
