How many of you ladies can give me the steps to changing a tire?

Have you ever change one alone? Would you be afraid if you had a blow out on the highway? I would and I know that I would call for help. Now a days you can get hit by a car or someone can grab you right off the side of the road.

What are your thoughts on this...is it a job your AAA, your husband, boy friend or dad? Do you even have an emergency roadside kit, water and a blanket in the car?How many of you ladies can give me the steps to changing a tire?1) pull over to the shoulder of the road

2) engage hazards

3) check traffic before exiting car or even exit opposite side

4) put out your %26quot;traffic cone%26quot; or other hazard device

5) loosen the lug nuts on the tire with tire iron (I have a 4 way)

6) get spare tire ready

7) use the jack to elevate the car

8) remove lugnuts

9) remove tire

10) replace with spare tire

11) screw on lug nuts

12) lower vehicle with jack

13) tighten lug nuts as tight as possible.. with a 4 way you can actually use your feet/leg strength to help you

14) put all equipment away

15) drive safely home or to the nearest gas station

I have changed alone, while I do prefer my hubby to do so for me. I do have an emergency roadside kit , no water or blanket though. I think all women should know how to do these things, men may not always be around. Or even a cell phone to phone for help. How many of you ladies can give me the steps to changing a tire?Good Question. I can't wait for answers. How many of you ladies can give me the steps to changing a tire?I sure cant change a tire... and i dont carry water or a blanket in my car... i dont even know if my car has a roadside kit.. if i ever do get a flat tire ill just call my dad.. cause i sure as hell couldnt change a flat tire by myself. How many of you ladies can give me the steps to changing a tire?Go on a crash diet right now!!! Then, right before your eyes, you'll see that spare tire change into a six pack in no time. Now you won't have to hate women anymore!! horray!!!How many of you ladies can give me the steps to changing a tire? Not only can I change a tire , I can rotate all 4 tires in under 20 minutes. My father taught us the basics before we could drive our cars alone. We learned to jump start a car, change a battery %26amp; tires and could change our own oil. Now I am old and lazy , I let a shop do all my work. But I have on occasion stopped to help a few elderly women with flat tires. Its that good karma thing. Have small kit, blankets, gloves and snacks in my car trunk. How many of you ladies can give me the steps to changing a tire?I do not know the exact steps in changing a tire but about 9 years ago I had 2 flat tires in the same night. I had to learn real quick. You get your spare and accessories out of the trunk, put your jack under the axle or solid piece under your car, Jack it up, take off the lugnuts and then the tire, change the tire and do the reverse order. Nowadays I call my insurance company or my husband. But yes, if I had to I could do it again. I do not ever want to change my car tires again! If I would have been on a dark road I would not have left my car till daylight. Nobody stopped to help me then and nobody probably would if it happened again. No, I do not have an emergency kit, etc... Good question! How many of you ladies can give me the steps to changing a tire? After verifying that I am out of the way of oncoming traffic, I

1. Call family member, tell them I am changing a tire.

2. Loosen lug nuts

3. Get spare out.

4. Jack up car

5. Remove lug nuts

6. Remove tire

7. Put on spare, and lug nuts

8. Lower jack

9. Tighen lug nuts

10. Put jack and spare in bed of truch

11. Get into vehicle.

12. Call family member to report safety.

13. Call boyfriend and brag that I have more tools than him...

.....not to mention a full sized spare

14. Drive 10 miles and retighten lug nuts.

15. Get tire replaced.

Be prepared, ladies. Learn how to change oil, its less messy than changing diapers, learn how to check the tranny fluid, know what kind of oil and fluids you use, and keep them in the car, know how to tell if the brake fluid is low, and follow that brake line, if it's rusting out, you can kill someone you love. Keep roadside flares in the trunk, get an automotive fire extinguisher, and keep it charged, or get a disposable and check it at every oil change. Get rid of the donut, and get a full sized spare.

and yes, keep a blanket, bottled water, and emergency food in there.

PS, I taught my sons how to chage oil. Its easy. How many of you ladies can give me the steps to changing a tire?YEARS ago I learned how to do my own oil changes, tune-ups %26amp; change a flat tire.

But now that information is useless (to me, anyways).

I always drive a newer car, (tune-ups not required till 100,000 miles, due to platinum tip spark plugs, %26amp; 'roter %26amp; condensor' obsolete)

New Fords come with free Roadside Assistance for 5 yrs,/60,000 miles, (change a flat, lock keys in car, towing, run out of gas, dead battery, etc) Just dial 1-800-241-FORD

The only time I've ever used them was for locking my keys in the car (stupid mistake, but I've done it a feew times in my life)

I live 4 miles from my job. %26amp; really don't travel too much further.

but I carry a cell phone, %26amp; I usually have water %26amp; an extra jacket in the car.

I work for an Auto Dealer so my oil changes %26amp; maintenance are cheap %26amp; convenient.

Although it's been over 25 years since I've had a %26quot;roadside emergency%26quot; (had a 'blow out' in the wee hours, in a construction zone, while driving home after a cross country vacation) I'm sure I could handle most situations that come my way.

Since i sell cars for a living, %26amp; many of the buyers are women, I have the opportunity to inform/educate my customers what to do in case of emergency. How many of you ladies can give me the steps to changing a tire? This one is easy!

Step 1 - call husband

step 2 - crawl into back seat with kids

step 3 - get out snacks and blankets (always have in car)

step 4 - pop in DVD

step 5 - watch video and eat snacks while waiting for hubby to arrive.

step 6 - kiss hubby when he arrives as we are now in good hands!!

Now if hubby is is out of town I push the onstar button and proceed with above directions. (no kiss for the AAA guy though).
